Blake Tamaki was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. From the age of 14, he became interested in digital photography and purchased his first SLR. Immediately, he became obsessed with both the technical and artistic aspects of photography. Without ever taking a photography class, he was able to teach himself the mastery of light.

By 15, Tamaki exhibited his photographs in local bay area coffee shops and created and sold high-quality prints. Nothing seemed impossible at this point in time. Whenever he could, Tamaki shot the most stunning vistas, sunsets, and cityscapes around the world.

Eventually, Tamaki began dabbling in other realms of photography. During his times in high school, he would experiment in constructing shots with artificial light, even creating his own studio light box.

After high school, Tamaki was accepted into the UCLA fine arts program. It was there that his photography matured and transcended from simply creating beautiful images to contributing to the fine arts world. Tamaki currently works with a medium format 4x5 camera to generate images with detail and clarity that the best digital cameras cannot reproduce.

This website is created to display Tamaki's artistic and commercial works.
